We always strive to see as much as possible in the small hour we spend in a new country. Indonesia's Bali was no exception. During our 9 days there, we changed 3 housing locations, while “raiding” the surrounding attractions daily.
Even our transfer from Nusa Dua to the hotel in Candidasa village was organized in such a way to enjoy the Tegenungan waterfall. Cabs were caught on the street. We stopped in a variety of cars, but the best price was offered by the driver of a network operator, whose cars stood out on the roads with their sky-blue color.

The waterfall is located exactly halfway between Nusa Dua and Candidasa. It is exactly one hour's drive from each location.

After an air-conditioned car, going outside was a challenge. The actual temperature was approaching 35 degrees, and in the humid jungle it is not an easy task for people from temperate climates to endure such heat. Our cab driver found a place in the shade where his colleagues were relaxing and pointed us to the gate leading to the waterfall.

There are various sized steps leading up to the waterfall. For the unprepared hiker, they may cause shortness of breath and require stopping. We met a similar road to the waterfall when we went to the waterfall of millionaires (El Limon) on the Samana Peninsula in the Dominican Republic. We could not miss the first appearance of Tegenungan in the gap of foliage and took a picture. If we read about “surrounding lush vegetation” in any book, we will imagine this natural landscape.

The Balinese apparently understand that the descent is not easy for visitors, so they have organized several viewing platforms along the way, where they have created art-objects, near which you can take pictures against the background of the Tegenungan waterfall. There are wings, nests and other attractions.

On the way to the main waterfall there is an opportunity to see several “daughter” waterfalls. The locals, most of whom are Hindu (which distinguishes them from the rest of Muslim Indonesia), believe that sacrifices will improve their relationship with the world of the gods, so they set up altars almost everywhere, even near small waterfalls. And gifts in the form of flowers, goodies and even half-drunk beer are brought by Balinese to these altars every day.

The Petanu River, which gave rise to the famous waterfall, is decorated with pyramids of stones. Apparently, these are the results of the activities of especially enlightened tourists who visited Tegenungan.

And here we are getting closer and closer to the streams of bubbling water. The surrounding nature is magnificent and it is impossible not to take a photo 😊😊😊😊😊
In the next photo, the attentive eye will discover how difficult it is for a person from Ukraine to be in such heat and humidity.

Once we reached the waterfall, there was no stopping us. Literally 3 seconds later, Natalie was photographing two guys from Kiev and Kharkiv, who were standing holding hands in the cool waters of Tegenungan 😊😊😊😊😊

Of course you have to see what this natural wonder of the island of Bali looks like.
We couldn't leave Natalie without a fantastic photo like ours, so we sent her off to pose on the rocks near Tegenungan.
Like the whole island of Bali, Tegenungan Waterfall is an important place for photo shoots. We quietly photographed one of them for our readers from the sneaky side 😉

If we described how hard it was to walk down to the waterfall in the heat, forget it!
After visiting, through the same scorching heat, we walked up to our car up the hill.....
The stops became more frequent, but the final selfies were professionally taken.

A little information about the infrastructure near the waterfall. Souvenir stores are present and they also provide services of visiting toilets. The price of 3000 Indonesian rupiahs do not scare you: 1 rupiah costs 0.002 hryvnia, and the cost of visiting is only 6 hryvnia. Yes, don't be surprised, there are currencies in the world that are 500 times smaller than the hryvnia. 💪💪💪

For washing hands and feet, the caring Balinese have prepared a special pool with fountains.

Another photo of the Tegenungan Waterfall from the hill opposite, definitely wouldn't be out of place, so we took it 😊😊😊😊

The art object that we would like to end this report with, we couldn't miss.
The yellow and blue heart in any country would have been an object for us to photograph, and in the depths of Bali island in Indonesia - even more so 🤣🤣🤣🤣
