It costs you nothing, but a good deed is done :-)
Calangute is one of the most popular towns in northern Goa. True, it can be called a city at a stretch. Apparently this is a former Indian village filled with hotels, hostels and multilingual tourist fraternity. The vicinity of Calangute reminded us of the Zhytomyr region of Ukraine.

Zhytomyr region
Calangute is a place with a lot of motorcycle taxis. You can stop anyone passing by on two wheels and be sure that they will take you where you need to go. Calangute cuisine is very amazing. We happily ate tiger prawns fried in oil with garlic, and most of the British (Indian colonial past) ordered fries and hamburgers in restaurants. I was surprised by the large number of men's hairdressing salons and the main product for women and girls, which is offered in the shops: "Ali Baba's pants."

This city, like many in India, is filled with religious sites. Shiva and Ganesha are greatly respected here. But children do not delve much into religious issues and play next to the altars. And the Banyan tree, under which the children play in the photograph, is still one of the main symbols of India for us.
Many have heard of the mud on Indian streets. Some tourists were very indignant that the streets of Calangute are different in cleanliness from the streets of Berlin. In India, since ancient times, garbage took over the ocean, so the Indians threw it under their feet and the tide cleared the land. When cellophane bags, plastic boxes and other representatives of our time appeared, the ocean could no longer cope with such garbage. The first couple of days we paid attention to this, and then how the Indians began to think about high things. The photo shows what a classic Indian street looks like with garbage and a cow.

It is not true to say that Indians are not trying to combat pollution. Here's a look at what signs can be found on the streets. "Please don't piss in here." But the percentage of Indians who are illiterate and cannot read is very large.
If you find yourself in Goa, you will need to buy food. After examining the question of shops and supermarkets in Goa, we have chosen the most popular Newton supermarket. According to descriptions and reviews, this is the largest supermarket. When we found it, we could not believe it - the entire supermarket occupied the area of a three-room apartment with a couple of rooms added on top. But the assortment was sufficient for tourists like us.

And we also remember that there are a lot of schoolchildren in India. We felt that all children are covered by the educational system. Each school has its own unique uniform and the streets of towns and villages are filled with schoolchildren. It usually looks like this.
