It costs you nothing, but a good deed is done :-)

It seems that Milan is fashion and football, but we are talking about some kind of horse ... This is no accident. Milan is home to the world's largest horse monument. The author of the project is Leonardo himself. When he was ordered to make the largest statue of the Horse in 1482, he delayed the order for 10 years, and (I think) took money regularly :-). As a result, he made a horse only from clay. After standing for 7 years, the horse was destroyed by French soldiers. And that was the end of the affair until 1977. Then they decided to restore the statue according to Da Vinci's drawings. They worked even slower than the master himself. And 22 years later, on the 500th anniversary of the destruction of the horse, they were still able to install it in bronze at the San Siro hippodrome in Milan. And so in the early morning of one of the days we got to Milan and galloped :-) to this horse.

The San Siro stable is located next to the San Siro football stadium as all San Siro on the ground have to stick to each other. The stadium is so harsh that it does not tolerate sports other than football. There are no runners' tracks and no free space behind the goal for athletes. Only football matches, only hardcore ... You can find out how the stadium looks inside from the photo of Nahuel from Wikipedia:

Milan seemed to us a very comfortable city for residents and visitors.

Convenient and intuitive metro. A very profitable daily pass in Milan - it costs just over two metro rides. However, it includes ground transportation. The train station is very beautiful. High ceilings, spacious rooms, many shops. You can just walk around the station.

Trying to catch wi-fi, they went to McDonald's and spied how the visitors, having drunk coffee, came up to the cash desks with unfinished glasses and asked for more coffee. The vendors take a glass and pour it. We were embarrassed to do this ... After having a snack, we went to the Sforza Palace (went to the palace, it sounds aristocratic :-) If you have ever seen the walls of the Moscow Kremlin, then know that they were built by the very architects who created the Sforza Palace in Milan. These guys, without straining their imagination too much, simply repeated the shapes of the towers and battlements on the walls in the Kremlin.

The main city park of Milan begins outside the walls of the palace. It's called Sempione. Here, residents of Milan and guests of the city love to spend their time. We remember the huge number of turtles living in the lakes and streams of this park.

Behind the park is the Milan Arch of Peace. One of the triumphal arches that make up the Historical Axis. In the book "A Feast That Is Always With You", Ernest Hemingway expresses the idea that the Arch of Peace, conceived by Napoleon in 1807 as a triumphal one for the ceremonial entry into Milan (he calls it the Sermion Arch) is on the same line with the Carrusel Arch and the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. This fact is also mentioned by the English and Italian Wikipedia.

Near the Duomo Cathedral there is the Victor Emmanuel II Gallery. This is one of the first passages in Europe, where shops of world-famous companies are located. But the main attraction of the gallery is the wish-fulfilling bull. You just need to make your wish, press the causal place with the heel of the bull and scroll 360 degrees. A deep dent in the bull says that there are a lot of people who want to carry out such a procedure ...

And now about the high :-)
In Milan, in the monastery of Santa Maria delle Grazie, the world-famous fresco by Leonardo da Vinci "The Last Supper" has been preserved. It is shown several times a day in groups of exactly 25 people. To see this creation of Leonardo, we bought tickets 2.5 months before the trip. Before entering the room with the image, the group passes several air barriers when the door is closed and air trapped from outside is pumped out. You cannot take pictures inside, so what we see is accompanied by a photograph from Wikipedia.

When Milan was bombed in 1943. One of the bombs smashed the entire refectory of the monastery. Of the four walls, only one survived. The one with the "Last Supper". Photos taken after the bombing - hang on the walls of the corridor leading to the mural. And from the outside, the monastery looks like this:

Milan seemed to us very interesting and friendly for tourists - come here, you will definitely like it.
