It costs you nothing, but a good deed is done :-)
In the last century, the name of the settlement Boyarka was known to every member of the Komsomol in the country, because it was here that Pavka Korchagin built his "narrow-gauge railway" from Nikolai Ostrovsky's novel "How the Steel Was Tempered".
Therefore, all the key attractions of Boyarka are associated with this novel. The most famous place is the school where Ostrovsky lived when he was building the railway in 1921-22 and later described it in his autobiographical novel. The building was built in 1911 and slightly resembles a tower. Pavel Korchagin stands in front of the entrance. In the photo he is on the left:

Turning to the right behind the school we leave to the historical museum. Next to him, we expected to see a bust of Ostrovsky, but for some reason the writer's head was missing. Or restoration, or expropriation ...

Having familiarized ourselves with the pedestal, we went to the station, where there is a "cuckoo" steam locomotive. A sample of such a locomotive is the only one preserved in Ukraine. These "cuckoos" saved Kiev from freezing in the winter of 1921 by delivering firewood from Boyarka's logging sites. This is what this Handsome looks like:

Passing along the street to the right, we found a piece of the same "narrow-gauge railway". It is on a small pedestal, but the condition of the pedestal is poor. The width between the rails is one step.

Having finished with the main sights, we retired towards the forest, because the Boyarka pine forests are beautiful. Walking along the path, we came across a group of hockey players playing on a frozen lake.

It was so incredible, because the outside temperature was above zero, the snow had already melted everywhere. The ice on the right edge of the lake looked little like a hockey rink. More like the pool. I even decided to shoot such an amazing action on video:
We went deeper into the forest. The weather was pleasing, the nature delighted. The giant pines beckoned ...

The path led us to a beautiful church, which, of course, we photographed. It is a pity that it was only open until 14:00, and we were a little late. But the very territory of the church, its neatness and cleanliness - we liked it.

We returned to Boyarka, walked along the streets of this town and made about it, approximately the following impression: Boyarka is a city where the past meets the future. Someone may meet their youth in it ...

And someone will pay attention to the urgent calls for today ...

Someone will look for Lenin and will not find ...

But the monument to the soldiers-liberators is well-groomed and decorated with flowers ...

The most striking embodiment of the meeting of yesterday and today can be found on the main street of Boyarka. This can hardly be found anywhere else. Because the main street of Boyarka is named ... No, you better see for yourself:

Our short journey has come to an end. We saw a new city and touched a piece of Soviet history. We breathed in the "pine" air of the forest and wandered along unfamiliar streets. This is how we saw Boyarka. But this is how Boyarka saw us ...
