It costs you nothing, but a good deed is done :-)
On May 9, 2015, the Kievites were pleased with the clubs of reenactors, who organized a very interesting and large-scale festival "Peremoga". We went there and got a lot of impressions. The weather and nature were pleasing on this wonderful holiday. The sun was warm, the flowers blossomed and smelled sweet.
The entrance to the festival was immediately discouraged. At the entrance there was a checkpoint with guards, whose appearance made me cringe a little in the first seconds.

Then we exhaled a little, as warriors from several countries appeared, which means we are now safe.

The troops at the festival were in separate camps and the closest was the camp of the allies. We started our acquaintance with "Peremoga" from this very camp.

The Americans and the British introduced the ammunition and weapons to the visitors. They pitched tents and a medical unit. Some of the soldiers talked, some sewed up a tunic, some cleaned weapons. This is how we remembered the British.

Some scenes in the Allied camp brought a smile. We rarely see soldiers in such unusual equipment.

We listened to the story of the radio operator, someone with his help even tried to convey congratulations on the Victory to their relatives and friends.

But they themselves did not resort to the services of a stationary radio, especially since among the exhibits were versions of smartphones of that time. I think I had an iPhone in my hands minus eight :-)

We were not allowed into the next camp, which belonged to the German fascist invaders for a long time. This is because all the reenactors who conducted their fragments of the general excursion were interesting storytellers and the visitors of the previous excursion did not disperse for a long time listening to them. Here are the Germans who did not let us in.

We got bored and went for a walk around the perimeter, where we found a bored Italian fascist in the trench. They shouted to him: Why are you sitting? Come tell us about the Italians! He happily responded, got out of the trench and climbed over the fence, telling us about the vicissitudes of Italy's participation in the world war.

After listening to him, we saw that the entrance had opened and ran to watch the German camp. We visited the kitchen, living quarters, took pictures with colorful characters.

Then there was a very interesting lecture by parachutists and SS men. Here is a photo of what these SS men looked like.

And here is a fragment of their story:
After the German camp, the Soviet was waiting for us. On the way, the troops sometimes mixed, but it was such a strange but interesting flavor of the festival.

The Soviet camp greeted us with music. A real gramophone, real records and inadvertently you think, maybe the soldiers are real?
Some soldiers were going on a combat mission and really fired from a machine gun with might and main. Hoping that all the same with blank cartridges, I came closer and photographed them.

But most of them relaxed on a picnic by the samovar.
(Still May 9 ;-)

A very fascinating story, Cossacks detained us for a long time. The history of their participation in the war is almost completely closed to us to this day, so listening to people who study this topic was exciting.

The farthest camp was the UPA camp. This is understandable, they hid deeper in the forest.

The guys involved in the reconstruction of the UPA army said that their hobby even led them to the cinema. Many of the participants have starred in "Guide" and other Ukrainian films. It was clear from the faces of the soldiers that the camp was well protected ;-)

The festival offered entertainments for visitors, usually quite military, but interesting. Here is the shooting range, which was led by a cheerful Soviet sailor.

The program included a boxing match, but when we passed the ring, the winner of the match suddenly emerged, whom we did not fail to photograph.

After going around all the camps, I had to have a snack. We, according to the tradition of the holiday, took porridge (albeit with sausages). And the food at the festival was for different tastes.

Finally, I will post a scene from the festival life. How often have you seen an American soldier buying food from a hipster? And it was easy to do at the "Peremoga" festival.

We would be glad to receive your comments on this article. If you have been to the Festivals of reenactors or are going to attend them - share your impressions in the comments.
