It costs you nothing, but a good deed is done :-)
Trakai is a small town near Vilnius. It is surrounded by beautiful lakes. On one of the lakes there is an island where a magnificent castle-fortress is located. We have already been to Trakai twice and will share our impressions.

This is how Trakai Castle appeared before us for the first time. And the photo on the right shows the town of Trakai, if you look at it from the island.

A wooden bridge leads to the castle gates. It is constantly filled with tourists. If you want to be alone in the frame, then you have to come in the morning or evening. You can also cheat by covering other tourists with yourself.

Inside, Trakai Castle is beautiful too. We visited the museum, which is located in the Prince's tower, but the strongest impression is made not by the museum, but by the majestic walls.

It takes 1 hour to explore the castle, including the two museums that work in it. But in order to contemplate the surrounding beauty - a whole day may not be enough.

Near the lake, there are the ruins of another castle, which was four times larger than the castle on the island. There is now the Ethnographic Museum of Lithuania, where you can find out what the Lithuanians did in the past centuries and touch the elements of their life.

Concluding the report, I would like to note the following: Trakai will have something to do for any tourist.
If you are a romantic person, you can meet your "Scarlet Sails" here. And if you are a pragmatic realist, then go and taste kibinai pies at a local restaurant of Karaite cuisine.

We would be glad to receive your comments on this article. If you have been to Trakai or are going to visit this city - share your impressions in the comments. Reposts and likes will be greatly appreciated.
