We will be pleased if you like this article.
It costs you nothing, but a good deed is done :-)
Traditionally, in August, we choose a sunny day to visit one of the most beautiful places in Kiev - the open-air museum "Pirogovo". The atmosphere of this place is very appealing to us. It seems magical that here you can touch the real history ...
The beginning of today's walk is the wooden church of the Archangel Michael.
"Pirogovo" is a very large museum, therefore, visiting there every year, we still have never reached its farthest edges, where "Carpathians, Transcarpathia and Hutsulshchyna" are located. Correcting this flaw - we purposefully set out to discover new "lands" of the museum complex. And here we have an old Transcarpathian hut.
In our blog you can find out how Transcarpathia lives now, and in Pirogovo you can see how the life of the region looked much earlier. For example, the decoration of huts in Transcarpathia was simple, but comfortable and clean.
After the "Transcarpathia" road "serpentine" goes up, and the roadside, lined with stones, make this road similar to those that were built in Ancient Rome ;-)
And so we got to the "Mizhgirya region", which for us symbolizes the classic in our understanding of the Carpathians. We have been to the real Mizhgirya several times and are ready to testify that in Pirogovo it has been reproduced with incredible accuracy, there is even a mountain river with a wheel mill. See how mountain streets and a church have been recreated.
The straw on the roofs of many huts is trimmed quite stylishly.
Local residents who graze the cattle on the territory of the museum add their presence to the general picture and create the illusion of a real visit to an ancient village.
The evening in "Pirogovo" pleased us with its sunflowers. We made a bunch of funny faces on ripe sunflowers and hung up a photo session on Instagram with the tag #friendly

The setting rays of the sun turned the field into a magical place that we did not want to leave.
Every year, visiting "Pirogovo" we are very worried that the old khatynki are slowly aging even more, under the influence of weather and time, and nothing new is added. And so, this year we saw that a new historical object appears in the form of a temple, which is half assembled from ancient fragments and partially complemented by a "remake". We hope that this is due to the fact that in "Pirogovo" they began to give cashier's checks to everyone, which was not in the past years.
And we will repeat our thought from the previous reportage: the entrance to such a luxurious museum should not cost the same (now it is 50 hryvnia, which is equal to 1.5 euros) for Ukrainians and foreigners. A visit to such an attraction in any country in Europe costs 15-20 euros, so you definitely need to raise the cost of an entrance ticket for tourists from other countries. This will significantly improve the infrastructure of the museum and regularly expand the exposition. It will also be possible to increase the number of places with entertainment and food, so that the visitor is lured everywhere with delicious Ukrainian food and activities.
During this visit, we were surprised by the number of trucks with equipment located on the territory of "Pirogovo" and the very first guesses turned out to be true ...
Films were filmed here. We, as regular viewers who support Ukrainian cinema, were glad that the film industry of our country is shooting new films for us. Administrators with walkie-talkies walked around and dispersed onlookers who were very interested in the filmmaking process. Many onlookers were outraged: "We paid for the entrance, so we want to watch your filming !!!"
And we quickly filmed a video for memory and went to the exit, satisfied with today's adventure.
We would be glad to receive your comments on this article. If you have been to Kiev and walked around Pirogovo - share your impressions in the comments. Reposts and likes will be greatly appreciated.
