The islands of Thailand are separate independent worlds, which often look more like a fairy tale than reality.

Koh Samet is one of the images of the bounty island on earth.

Its purpose is to please the eye, the island of Koh Samet emphasizes even with its shape: it remotely resembles a stretched thong (although perhaps not for everyone) ;-)
We got to the island from the mainland of Thailand by speedboat. We were dropped off at one of the beaches without warning that the zone is a reserved area and that we have to pay an environmental fee. They check the payment when leaving the island, and then leaving here we felt uncomfortable in front of the captain of the ship, who demanded to show an environmental fee ticket. But in such cases, it saves: “I don’t understand yours, what kind of an ecologist is a ticket?” ... Having gone ashore, we went to look for housing. We looked at the maps of the island hung near the beach and chose at random a village where we decided to go. Transport on the island is very cool. We rode in the back of a pickup truck and shook along incredible slopes, at times it seemed that we could just fly out. The adrenaline went off scale.

We got to our village, filmed this bungalow in the photo, and it stood alone on the very edge of the village. Then there was only the jungle. We settled in and went to look for food. Having found a cafe, we did what everyone else in Thailand did: we ordered ourselves Tom-Yam soup and seafood.

Then, everything was as described in the books about "Paradise": endless swimming, hiking to neighboring beaches, sunbathing :-)

Now look at another photo where I am swimming under the bushes and after that I will tell you about "THE HORROR OF PARADISE ISLAND"

It all started with a huge lizard living outside the shower door in our bungalow. I think more than half a meter. Nata had the first acquaintance with her, flying out of the shower with wild screams. The lizard fled, but soon returned. Gradually, we began to get used to each other. In the evening, we already laughed at how much she scared us at first. When it got dark, the lizard also started laughing !!! She really laughed at night with an idiotic laugh, incredibly similar to
human. We felt like the heroes of "Jane Eyre", and with bated breath we listened to laughter in the darkness of the bungalow, and it (remember) stood near the jungle itself. In this mood, without closing our eyes, we lain until one in the morning. Waves to this
time intensified and began to lash along the shore with great force, the water level rose and the water flooded a large piece of the shore, reaching the stone ledge where our house stood. But the worst was ahead. From our window we could see the boat dock , which went far out to sea. In the middle of a sleepless stormy night, a boat approached the pier and three times
honked. We saw how people with bags in their hands began to move along the boards from the shore towards the ship. Our consciousness, inflamed with the laughter of a lizard and the sound of the waves, could draw only one picture: As the storm intensifies, the rescuers sent a ship to the village for people. That is, now, before our eyes, the villagers are evacuated, and we, forgotten by everyone, will be left here alone with an idiotic lizard in the house and monkeys in the jungle. Looking at the sailing ship, we managed to remember that there was a tsunami in Thailand in 2004 and felt like Robinson and Friday, left alone with nature. But gradually, the sound of the waves began to subside, fatigue fell on us and we fell asleep. When we woke up, we saw the bright sun, the turquoise calm sea, and a little later we learned that at night the ship brings food for the cafe and shop to the village , and from here it takes the recyclable materials to the mainland. It was warm and light, but after the night "sediment remained" :-)
In the morning, after weighing all the pros and cons, we decided that we didn't really want the second night of “laughter and storm”. We packed our things and walked through the jungle to the port of the island and happily sailed in the direction of calm and carefree Pattaya.
