It costs you nothing, but a good deed is done :-)
One fine evening, we wanted to immerse ourselves in the beautiful nature of the Zhytomyr region. The direction of the weekend trip was determined, now it remained to find a place where we can get in touch with the ethnic color, and at the same time spend the night.
Having devoted several hours to studying on the Internet places close to Kiev and corresponding to our interest "green tourists", we came across information about "Polesskaya khat". After looking for contacts on the network, we phoned the hostess Inna and booked ourselves a new adventure in ethno-style. The hut is located in the village "Gorodskoe". I have not heard that there was a city in the world with the name "Village", but we have a village with the name "City" (Gorodskoe means City) in Ukraine !!! We haven't figured out how to call the inhabitants urban or rural ;-) So, go ahead !!! From a good Zhytomyr highway, you need to turn towards the "Gorodskoe" according to the sign and the road will turn into a "pumpkin", i.e. off-road with large clouds of dust, but in the photo it all looks even attractive.

After driving a few kilometers, to the left of the road, we saw wooden crosses near the lake. We stopped and went to see, it turned out to be the Svyatodukhovsky monastery, but the monastery is not in the usual sense for us: along the lake there are monks' cells, similar to houses that are placed in tourist centers. Magic silence, smooth surface of the lake, light evening twilight, "and on the other side ..." monks' cells with towels on the windows created a bewitching atmosphere.
The gates were closed, we admired from afar, were silent, looked at the inscriptions and icons, photographed the entrance gates and drove on.

It is not far from the monastery to Gorodskoye, when we entered the village we crossed the Teterev river, which boils very much near the bridge, reminding the rapids of the Carpathian rivers.
And so we ended up in "Polesie hut".
A real hut from the century before last, carefully preserved interior and utensils.
We will plunge into the aesthetics of the 18-19 centuries for the whole day.

Yes, the most interesting thing about this trip is the opportunity to live in all this decoration.
Never spent the night at a museum? Or at least watched the movie "Night at the Museum"?
To begin with, we rummaged a little in the closet of this hut:

Then, we played some "role-playing games" :-)
And so, until we were called to supper. Borsch, pampkin porridge, flaxseed sandwiches:

Milk "only from under the cow", and for dessert "scraped the bottom of the barrel" and baked pies for us in a real oven:
After all this, there is only one concern - who will be the first to go to sleep on the stove ... The winner was determined quickly ... We turned off the light and found ourselves in the same darkness and silence that surrounded people 200 years ago. They did not fall asleep for a long time, trying to scare each other with terrible stories. Note for "green tourists" - amenities in the courtyard and at night, when you go there, you feel like a Khoma-philosopher from Gogol's "Viy". In truth, I would like to plunge into antiquity, something
from the achievements of civilization
/ for example plumbing :-) /
keep up-to-date.

In the morning we had breakfast and went to the beautiful Teterev river.
We admired the rapids of the stormy "Teterev", and there was a "cloud" of fishermen around. Natasha was already getting ready to get her tackle, but this time we, albeit with difficulty, were able to dissuade her from fishing, since there were new interesting places in Ukraine in the Zhytomyr region ahead.
We drove back to the track and stopped at a spot that we had missed in yesterday's twilight. It was a swamp.
The swamp looked so picturesque that it brought back memories of
The Grimpen Mire from The Hound of the Baskervilles. We were not too lazy to take pictures and
let's go further ...
