TARAKANIV FORT, HOW TO GET THERE.
We visited one of the most mysterious sights of Ukraine - Tarakaniv Fort. I must say right away that this was a serious test for our fragile psyche. The fort is located near the Kiev-Lviv highway in the village of Tarakanov, Dubensky district, Rivne region. The entrance to it goes from the outskirts of the village, which is from the side of Lviv. And this is the entrance to the cemetery. You just need to turn right in front of the cemetery itself and go into the forest. After driving for some time through the forest, you will see a left turn - at this point you need to leave the car, and continue your journey on foot. After a few tens of meters, a platform will appear in front of you - very similar to the field for a ball game among the Mexican Aztecs and Mayans in Chichen Itza : two walls located opposite each other
After passing through the entire area between the walls, you need to turn left and follow the path. You must move until you see a hole in the mountain to the left of the path. This is the entrance to the Tarakaniv Fort. The structure of the fort is made very mysteriously - it is, as it were, dug into the earthen ramparts that surround it, so it is impossible to see it from afar.

THE MYSTICAL HORROR OF THE TARAKANIV FORT
Since we were here for the first time, we did not suspect that this was the entrance. At first we passed by, but then we returned to look inside. There was a long pipe-corridor with a gap far, far away. Cold air was coming from the chimney, we saw that to the left and to the right of the main corridor, dark-dark adits were leaving from which clouds of cold were rising. It became scary, we reached the middle and were ready to turn back. But our well-known "willpower plus character" made us go to the end ... of the corridor. What you see in the photo on the left is the middle of the corridor. Not so far to the exit. And this is the moment of the flash of the camera, but in fact it is dark, damp and scary there.
When, finally, we came out of the tunnel, such a picture appeared before us. We have not yet moved away from the dark and cold corridor, but before us is a new mysterious world, which looks like a scenery for films about the apocalypse. For all the time we walked through the forest, walked past the walls, climbed in the chimney and walked near the fort - we have not yet met a single living soul. But they began to hear voices !!! From somewhere on top of the shafts, a man's voice sounded absolutely articulate and spoke French. He seemed to be telling something funny, because after his phrases, two laughing female voices were heard. Imagine how the hair on our heads could have moved when we walk alone through the ruins and listen to a French speech in three voices. Of course, it could be some French tourists (in the village of Tarakanv, Dubny district!!!), who came to see the fort and were sitting somewhere high on the rampart, joking merrily, but at that moment we knew for sure what it was. Some of Napoleon's officers are flirting with young beauties at a ball, and we hear it through some time gap.

A visit to the Tarakaniv Fort left an indelible impression on us. The atmosphere that hovers there is really mystical. We do not envy those who get there as part of a tourist group. A large number of people, with their hustle and bustle, will disperse the vibes of mystery that we felt here.
Admire the views of the Tarakaniv Fort, a place we definitely recommend to visit. Photos below are clickable

But it would be untrue to say that during the entire exploration of the fort we did not meet a single person. Walking around the fort we met a girl with an easel, who was doing some sketches. She even got into one of the frames.
We discussed: how is she alone in this terrible place, standing, drawing and not afraid of anything? The only version that seemed to us consistent with the spirit of the fort: She has always been here alone, drawing for the last two hundred years ...
In the meantime, there is no need to know about it. ”
