We will be pleased if you like this article.

It costs you nothing, but a good deed is done :-)

Of the previously seen, the coolest, most interesting and authentic castle of Transcarpathia - Mukachevsky! This is how we saw him from our apartments:

Forgive me those locks that are still ahead of us. Even when passing through Mukachevo, take some time and see this magnificent sight of the city.
Located on a high hill surrounded by forest, beckons and beckons to itself. We allotted a whole day of light to watch it and we paid right. The castle is large, filled with museums, souvenirs and wine. Climbing the slope, we found ourselves near the entrance. The moat is not filled with water, but an idea of how it used to be gives.
We enter Palanok
The first courtyard of the castle is immediately impressive. You feel yourself, if not Ivanhoe, then Quentin Dorward. If not Quentin Dorward, then at least his horse.

The sculptural compositions of this site are expressed by pillars. For example, there are such:

The high walls of the bastions apparently defended the inhabitants of the castle well. And even now it is difficult to imagine how it would be possible to conquer this proud castle.

On the next level, there is a museum, souvenir shops, a wine cellar and several figures of former owners that are key to the history of the castle. We started from the cellar ;-)

Delicious mulled wine! One of the tastiest I've ever tasted. Therefore, you can take wine or not, but a glass of mulled wine is recommended! After a couple of mulled wine, you can safely go down to the "torture room" ... In fact, everything in this room is very "herbivorous", no shouts or blows are heard. There is an opportunity to look through the lattice at several dolls covered with red paint. The atmosphere of horror is not conveyed.

 The executioner and his victim
Based on this peace-loving attitude, we ourselves had to think out the fears behind our backs in
the corridors of the castle. Here I am grabbed by the hair, someone caught up on the stairs.

Then we went to see the statues of the heroes of the castle. The main character is Ilona Zrynja - National Heroine of Hungary and Croatia. One of the main streets of Mukachevo is named in her honor. In the sculptural composition, she is presented with her son Ferenc Rakoczi II . In the photo, she is to the right of her son.

Another sculpture attracted us with a shiny toe and a bunch of money between our legs. We of course
grabbed this toe and put the money at their feet. By the way, money here performs a very practical task: sellers of souvenir shops regularly go to the monument to change large bills into small ones.

Climbing to the top floor of the castle, you can see the Museum of Ethnography of Transcarpathia and see what the life of the inhabitants was like in the past. We were attracted to this museum by the roof of the castle. It seemed to us that the wooden roof beams were the most vulnerable point in the castle.
 Ethnographic Museum in the Castle
To look like intelligent and educated tourists, we went to the historical museum at the castle. We learned a lot about the history of the city of Mukachevo and even its earlier name: Monkach. And the periods in history were very diverse. In general, there is something to remember ...

The clothes of local residents were stylish, fashionable, youthful:

And the houses of the Transcarpathians were already clean, beautiful and well-groomed back then:

After walking around the museum, we came to the highest platform of the castle. There is an eagle installed by the Hungarians for the 1000th anniversary of the acquisition of the Motherland. And a big Ukrainian flag.

The beautiful views from this place were a pleasant finishing touch to our visit. Mukachevo Castle Palanok - definitely recommended for visiting!
