It costs you nothing, but a good deed is done :-)
When we planned to visit Poltaska region, the choice fell on Velyki Sorochintsy. As you might guess, you should go to Velyki Sorochintsy to the Sorochinskaya fair. We have planned a whole trip around the towns and villages of the Poltava region and tell about it in our blog.

This article will tell you how to spend three days and two nights in the Poltava region unforgettably. Moreover
Sorochinskaya fair will be just a small supplement to the trip. The route is as follows: Velikie Sorochintsy, Mirgorod, Velikaya Bagachka. We arrived at the Sorochinskaya fair on Friday evening and did not rush to visit, but went to put up a tent. Tents are set up across the field from the entrance, the field is mowed (apparently in order to observe fire safety), so the dust is in the field incredible. We set up a tent, fried barbecue and went to bed. In the morning we woke up and went to look at the goods brought by the merchants ;-) The photo on the left shows the distance from the tent camp to Sorochintsy themselves. We packed our things and the tent in the trunk and drove to a large parking lot where all the guests of the fair stay. Then walk to the entrance.

Vendors start to lay out their wares long before the main entrance. When you get to
fair gate, you are practically familiar with the entire range. But inside is more interesting, a lot
all kinds of characters, Cossacks, hetmans, villagers. If you're lucky, you can also with Gogol himself
meet. Groups from the surrounding villages perform at several venues, there are many cafes and various "attractions" for tourists. For example, you can lie in a cart with corn ;-)

Or you can drink horilka ;-)

In the far corner of the fair - VDNKh of the Poltava region with tractors, machine tools and building materials. There are several attractions for kids and beer flows like a river throughout the territory ...

It will take a couple of hours to walk around the entire fair, a couple more for gatherings in a cafe. Rush hour
the number of visitors went through the roof and the number of people in the central alley was comparable to a good rock concert. Yes, there was a real crush. Having bought souvenirs, we got into the car and went to one of the most beautiful cities in Ukraine, to Mirgorod.
Mirgorod is one of our favorite cities, Khorol spills beautifully there, which in the rest of the Poltava region looks like a medium-sized stream. In Mirgorod there is a very colorful kalyuzha, right in the center, the same one that Gogol described in the story "How Ivan Ivanovich Quarreled with Ivan Nikiforovich." Mirgorod has a wonderful sanatorium area with mineral springs and six or seven sanatoriums located together. Mirgorodskaya puddle, surrounded by sculptures of Gogol's heroes.

We advise you to swim in Khorol and drink mineral water in the Pump Room. There it is offered
in two types: cold and warm. As for me, if cold mineral water is simply not very pleasant to drink, then warm water is simply impossible ;-) But, since this is a matter of taste, we will show what the Mirgorod Pump-room looks like: in the next photo: it is behind me.

Near the pump room there is a pheasant house, a shooting gallery, and souvenir shops. Everything is neat, beautiful territory and for walks are recommended. After walking around Mirgorod, we went to a supermarket to buy food and drink, and then went to the "wild places" of the Poltava region. Now we will tell you how to find a magical place with white "Maldivian" sand: Go from Mirgorod to Velikaya Bagachka, after passing the whole Bagachka, you will meet the Psel River. Cross the river and turn right, leaving the asphalt onto the dirt road that runs along the river. You need to drive several kilometers and this wonderful place will open in front of you. It is easily recognizable by the white sand on the opposite bank. Amazing place !!! We have already been there twice ...

The Psel River in this place is not wide, but incredibly deep. According to our estimates, meters 6-7
in depth. We pitched our tents and inflated the boat.

And then we rode a boat on the river, swam, fished, played volleyball, cooked kulesh, sang songs with a guitar, until the very next evening. It's great to be in the middle of such beautiful places. In the evening of the next day, we went home cheerful and full of vivid impressions. Our three days of travel were so vivid, intense and memorable that we printed one of the photographs and hung it up in our "travel photo gallery". Here she is.
