Quite by accident, we discovered on the Internet that a cat show will be held in Kiev next weekend. Since we had no plans for these days, on Saturday afternoon we were already queuing up for a ticket to attend this event. And I will say that the ticket price was surprising: 51 hryvnia per person. We visited other exhibitions for 15-30 UAH.
The first impression is surprise. We simply did not expect the exhibition to be so successful. Several thousand cats, several thousand visitors stared. Here is the right half of the hall on the photo. Some ranks were simply not crowded. We stood on the edge for a long time without risking entering this array of people, but soon curiosity took over and we carefully plunged into the world of cats :-)
Although after seeing the main prizes, it became clear to us why there are so many participants. Not every Formula 1 winner can get the cup the furry winners of this grand prix are expecting :-)
Don't think there were only four prizes. The participants were so varied and magnificent that many gifts had to be prepared. Indeed, how can you choose the best among this "sea of beauty"? They are all the best.
Here is a place that is very important for the owners and is completely uninteresting for the puffy people. Here they are evaluated, described by color, hairstyle, character, etc. The champions are determined by the results.
Handsome men and beauties await ratings and reviews in such cells. They behave differently here: someone is humbly waiting, someone poses for photographers, and someone wants to go home.
And now our rating of the popularity of cat breeds, as we saw it. The most popular cats today are Rex. Don't be confused by the dog's name - there should be one more word in front of it: Devon or Cornish. Devon Rex and Cornish Rex are the most popular cat breeds today (according to our rating agency :-) Here's a Cornish Rex.
The second place in our rating is British / Scots! There were many of them at the exhibition, of all colors, sizes and characters. Sometimes, looking at "a bunch of small things" it was difficult to count the participants ;-)
In third place are the Maine Coon giants. These animals weighing up to 13 kilograms were imposingly lying here and there. Some owners of Maine Coons told us that these cats are “terrible on the face, kind inside,” or, to put it simply, a very delicate and fragile soul is hidden behind the outer size. And these cats would rather avoid conflict than intervene in it. And we remember their eyes, deep and thoughtful.
And now, memorable moments from the exhibition. We met such a friend there.
There were participants with non-standard numbers. True, not scary at all :-)
There were also comrades with a limited amount of wool per square centimeter of body :-)
There were also very serious kids.
And sometimes very, very serious ;-)
There were (judging by the look) very experienced and cunning guys ;-)
But there were much more touching ones at the exhibition. After all, they are still cats :-)
Just look at these brother and sister and then measure your inner level of "mimic" and "cute". Aren't they beautiful?
And now the luxury page. Here are the servals in front of you. These are no longer cats, but representatives of the cat breed, such as the lynx. They grow up to 18 kilograms, eat - immeasurably, stand - incredible!
But we, briefly distracted by "expensive and curious", still admired the classic pussies more. After all, the price in the case of choosing a furry friend is not at all important. (although the "Abyssinians" are one of the most popular breeds today, they surprised us with a price of 600-700 euros per kitten). But this is not our way. We love everyone, both dear and not so and just courtyards.
The story would not have been complete if we had not told that a miracle happened at this exhibition !!! We met our little happiness. Several times we passed a house with a gorgeous Siamese beauty, but the owner was absent at that time and we could not even find out whether the kitten was on sale or not. But persistence takes the city and we waited :-)
We with our new darling looked into each other's eyes, rubbed our noses and the deal was done. We did not plan this in advance, but we were ready for a potential acquisition.
And if a visit to the cat show gave someone just pleasant impressions and emotions, then we grabbed ourselves a blue-eyed, big-eared and very affectionate holiday, which received its own name - Hrystya. The name of the parent of this beauty was Agathon. Father Agafon sounds quite religious, but Khrystina Agafonovna's respectful address is very popular at home :-)
