It costs you nothing, but a good deed is done :-)

We start reports about interesting places of the Nikolaev region from the Radonovoye lake.

We got there with the help of a bus excursion from Kiev from "Anga-travel" , which we signed up for to explore the beautiful places of Ukraine within the framework of our project: "Green tourism in Ukraine" . The Nikolaev region was previously unjustly bypassed by us and we decided that it was time to correct this situation.

The distance from Kiev to Radon lake is about 325 kilometers.

 Where is the radon lake

Just a few years ago, near the lake, they began to develop a tourist infrastructure and organized an observation deck above the lake. Buses bring tourists there.

In addition to viewing the lake from a bird's eye view, on the observation deck there is an opportunity to take a picture in the "Forged Heart" or capture yourself in the image of an "Angel".

The main activity that one can experience is the trolls stretched over the lake. The network claims that this attraction is the longest in Ukraine, but we do not know for sure whether it is true or not. Since there are 2 "strings" stretched over the lake, there is an opportunity to "fly a race". The lower station of this gurney is located near the only beach on the lake.

It was very unusual to see the sign "Swimming is prohibited" on the filled beach. Apparently, all these people did not bathe at all, but for example, they took baths, immersed themselves in the waters, or simply plunged merrily into the turquoise radon water.

It is necessary to enter the radon lake very carefully, since this is a former granite quarry and the entrance is a layer of the sharpest granite crumbs, which does not give pleasure to unprepared feet. Where there is a beach, in no case dive !!! At the bottom, here and there, there are huge boulders, into which you can bump your head very hard. In the photo below, we filmed (apparently local) guys jumping from a cliff to the left of the beach. But how safe it is - we do not know. But we'll tell you more about Radon in the lake. Most people have probably heard about radon baths, and refer to swimming in this lake as a panacea for many diseases. And that day we also went to plunge into the water, but when, before writing the report, we looked at Wikipedia to find out more precisely about the medicinal properties of radon gas, we were stunned: the medicinal properties of radon have not been scientifically proven, but the fact that it is a radioactive carcinogen - it is known for sure. Therefore, when you come to Migia on an excursion and find yourself on the shore of this lake, then decide for yourself whether to take radon baths or not ...

If you decide to go here on your own and for a few days, then here are the contacts for booking a place in the campsite. There is also a website where you can get acquainted with possible activities in the vicinity of Migia.

There are several kiosks near the beach where you can buy drinks and food, as well as local souvenirs, the main one of which was some kind of tincture. We, who were still under the influence of radon ;-), did not dare to buy a new product for ourselves and went on foot back upstairs to the bus waiting for us.

Of course, we took a selfie against the backdrop of bright turquoise waters and were very pleased with the fact that our beloved "Green Tourism in Ukraine" is actively developing.
