It costs you nothing, but a good deed is done :-)

Arriving in Bangkok, the first thing we wanted to do was to get to the temple of the reclining Buddha, which is shown in the credits of the film "The Beach" . After looking in more detail, though, we saw little differences between the movie and real life. Here's a shot of Leonardo DiCaprio:

And in the next photo - me. Compare whose shot is more emotional, mine or some DiCaprio's :-)

I had to go to this temple from the metro by tuk-tuk. We remember the instruction where it was written that passengers should hold their bags tightly against the body. The speed of the tuk-tuk in some parts of the trip was scary, but the price was not :-)

The temple of the reclining Buddha is called Wat Pho . In Thailand, there are only two temples where they officially teach and graduate in Thai massage (Not at all what young girls in Pattaya and Phuket do ;-), but real. Wat Pho is home to the main Thai school of Thai massage. Trainees pay $ 20-25 a day to massage tourists for free. We could not pass by such a temptation and tried a REAL Thai massage. General impressions: a little painful, a little hard, a little pleasant. In the temple itself, you need to buy a glass of coins from the monks and start throwing one coin into the pots located along the Buddha statue. The constant noise is called the "Whispering sound of coins". If there are enough coins in the purchased bowl, then everything will be fine and wishes will come true, If not, then something is wrong and desires need to be reworked :-)

There are a lot of Buddha statues in the temple, in every courtyard, on every street of the temple.

But for us the stupas were more surprising, geometrical structures rushing with spiers into the sky.
